Children's Christian Education
9:30 a.m. - Sunday Church School and MusicChurch School for ages 3 years through 5th grade meets in our 2nd floor education wing. This year's children's curriculum is "Bible Quest", published by the Presbyterian Distribution Center. "Bible Quest" recognizes that every child is an interpreter and presents the Bible in story format. Through a variety of visual and hands-on activities, "Bible Quest" invites the children to make the stories of the Bible their own.Children’s music is an important and vital part of the children’s education and music program at First Presbyterian. The children experience music, worship, and praise through singing, movement, and instruments including children’s handbells, xylophones/ metallophones, and various rhythm instruments. Two separate groups meet in the Children's Chapel (2nd floor of Education Wing) according to age and reading ability; 3 yrs – 1st grade (pre-readers) and 2nd – 5th graders. They meet during the Sunday School hour on Sunday mornings; the 3 yrs old – 1st graders from 9:30 to 10:00 and the 2nd – 5th graders from 10:15 to 10:45.
5:30 p.m. - Wednesday Evening ProgramEvery Wednesday evening starting September 12, 20075:30 p.m. - Evening meal (freewill offering) served for all ages 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. - Ages 3 years through 5th grade meet in our 2nd floor education wing to participate in a variety of craft, drama, music and Bible study opportunities.
